Specialized Support for Midlife Mental Health & ADHD in Women
Midlife can bring unexpected changes to mood, focus, sleep, and emotional wellbeing. Many women find themselves not feeling like themselves; more overwhelmed, emotionally reactive, mentally exhausted, or struggling with focus in ways they never have before. Hormonal shifts, life transitions, and longstanding demands can suddenly make everyday life feel harder than it used to.
At Selene Therapy & Wellness, I provide thoughtful, evidence-informed therapy for women navigating midlife, perimenopause, menopause, and ADHD. I do this by helping you better understand what you're experiencing and find practical ways to move forward with clarity and confidence.
Many women arrive unsure whether what they are experiencing is anxiety, ADHD, hormonal change, burnout, or simply the cumulative weight of trying to hold everything together.
My approach is practical, compassionate, and grounded in evidence informed care, helping you make sense of what is happening while building strategies that fit your real life.
Common ADHD and Perimenopause Symptoms in Midlife Women
Many women reach midlife feeling confused by changes they didn’t expect.
You might be experiencing:
-
Increased anxiety or irritability
-
Difficulty concentrating or “brain fog”
-
Sleep disruption or chronic fatigue
-
Feeling overwhelmed by responsibilities
-
Emotional sensitivity or mood changes
-
Burnout and mental exhaustion
-
ADHD symptoms becoming harder to manage
-
Questioning identity, purpose, or direction
-
Feeling less like yourself than you used to
These experiences are common during midlife and are often connected to a combination of hormonal changes, life transitions, and accumulated stress.
With the right support, it’s possible to better understand these changes and develop strategies that help you feel more balanced and in control again.

Therapy for ADHD, Perimenopause, Menopause, Anxiety, & Burnout
Midlife Mental Health
Midlife is often a time of significant transition. Therapy can help you navigate stress, identity shifts, caregiving pressures, burnout, and emotional changes while building strategies that support resilience and wellbeing.
Perimenopause & Menopause
Hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause can influence mood, sleep, cognition, and emotional regulation. Understanding how these changes affect mental health can be an important step toward finding relief and support.
ADHD in Women
Many women discover or begin to question ADHD during midlife, particularly as hormonal changes affect focus, organization, and emotional regulation. Therapy can help you better understand ADHD and develop practical strategies that work for your life.
Advanced Training That Supports the Full Picture
My approach considers the full picture so therapy can be practical, relevant, and responsive to the realities of your life.
My work is informed by advanced training in both menopause-related mental health and adult ADHD, allowing me to support clients experiencing the complex intersection of hormonal changes, cognitive functioning, and emotional wellbeing.
Specialized Training:
Menopause Mental Health Care Practitioner (MMHCP): Advanced training in how hormonal shifts affect mood, sleep, cognition, and emotional wellbeing during midlife.
ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP): Specialized training in adult ADHD, including executive functioning, emotional regulation, masking, and women’s presentation.
CBTi Trained: Specialized training in evidence based support for insomnia and sleep disruption, including sleep difficulties related to anxiety, ADHD, stress, and hormonal transitions.
These areas of advanced training allow me to support women whose experiences often involve more than one layer. ADHD, hormonal changes, sleep disruption, anxiety, burnout, emotional overwhelm, and shifts in self-confidence frequently intersect, particularly during midlife and other major life transitions.
Many women come to therapy unsure whether what they are experiencing fits one category or reflects several overlapping factors. My approach considers the full picture so therapy remains practical, relevant, and responsive to your circumstances, goals, and the patterns shaping daily life.
